Festival with 2.5yo.... is a trolley the way forward?

Going a little festival (Galtres) over the August Bank Holiday and wondering about what to do with DS......... he's a good little walker but in that awkward stage where i don't dare leave the buggy at home..........

Last year we managed brilliantly with him in his back carrier despite the AWFUL mud and he fell asleep beautifully in it on DH's back while we enjoyed The Charletons ect, he was 18months then though and this time he'll be a year older and is a heavy lump and DH is a bit worried that he'll not be able manage with hime on his back the whole time(wimp! haha!!)....... so wondering about hiring a trolley like this ...... are they any good?? its says on the site that they're easy to manoevure etc but they look a bit numb to me...... but prob better than struggling with the buggy if its (inevitable) muddy.......

Any advice? :)

They are a pain in the ass you are better off with a sturdy 3 wheeler buggy. It's much easier to push than to pull you can put stuff on it and it's nicer for lo to nap in.

Search for an ebay bargain you can always sell on after.

They are a great idea and can be personalised, but not easy in the mud. Otherwise how about a second hand bike trailer, they convert into large pushchairs. We had one and used it up to last year for our very large 8 year old at festivals, we got 6 years use out of it.
It was so great we were incredibly sad to part with it!

They look cool, but I second the bike trailer - much more practical and you can still accessorize with fairy lights if you want Wink

Plus you can use it with a bike afterwards. We got an amazing one secondhand from a bike rental place - it's a double one so you can fit all your crap for a day at the festival too.

Ahh radio flyers! We've got a couple of those wagons!
They are really good, and really not that hard to steer, but are quite heavy so I would see if you can try one out before the festival.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but how would you push a bike trailer? Confused

I do like the sound of, whatever you decide on, being accessorized with fairy lights though! Shock Grin

We use our bike trailer too!

Kate, they have a handle on the back and convert into a sort of stroller. You can even run with ours.
