Hotel in/near Reims with secure parking?

As above really - heading to the Alps and will have a car full of camping gear and also bikes on the bike rack attached to the tow bar.

Ideally we'd like somewhere with secure parking - some places say they have secure outdoor parking, but do you think that would be secure enough?

If anyone has any recommendations, I'd be grateful - thanks!

Most campaniles are good. Ones I've used have locked gates after 10pm, high fences around car parks etc.

In 2 weeks we will be doing a similar journey, although we are heading to the South of France. We shall also have a trailer full of camping stuff and have opted to stay in a B&B hotel at Reims - ths one here a they sleep 4 in a room. we also opted for this one as although its middle of nowheresville it's close to the autoroute and when we looked on Google earth the location looked safe enough for even my paranoid dh. Actually it's such a new hotel that it isn't on Google streetview!

It is just for one night though. We looked at the camapanile hotels but they didn't have 4 berth rooms for the night we wanted.

We stayed in this hotel in Reims 5 years ago when we were driving down to Lake Garda in Italy.

It was great then - we had a 2 room apartment with kitchenette, there was secure underground parking (at extra cost, but not extortionate), and it is close(ish) to the centre of the city - within walking distance of restaurants etc.

Having had a brief glance at the more recent reviews than mine, it seems that it is still quite well rated. Not sure whether it is still the same sort of price, but I would say it's worth a look.

Thanks for these recommendations - I will check them out.

Lucycat - do you think the parking would be ok for leaving bikes on a bike rack ont he back of the car? That is the main thing for DH really, the tent will be in the boot but he is worried about the bikes getting nicked.... Have tried tof ind an email address to ask them but it seems impossible! There is a phone number, so wil try that tomorrow.

Thanks!

mmm we will have a camping trailer with a soft top that we are leaving but I'd phone them about bikes to be safe. There seems to be cctv on the carpark and gates but whether they lock the carpark or not I don't know.
