I do appreciate that to many this is not camping 'proper' but having got no replies in the UK travel section I thought I'd try over here.

Thanks to a Mumsnet competition we are off to Featherdown Farm's Aller Farm in Devon for 3 nights at the end of August.

I am taking 7 and 3 year old DSs and a very camping-phobic DH and would be very interested in any tip sto ensure we have a fab time.

We went last year in September and Loved it!! It has inspired us to go camping as a family this year.

The tents are huge and very cosy. The beds are comfy. The Aller's are very friendly.

Have fun!!

Just got back from the Midgham farm one. Our tip is to bring a single gas ring. Although you'll have your stove, if you are anything like me you'll want cups of tea at very short notice and waiting for that stove to warm up is not good!

We were very warm and cosy so didn't need all the extra sleeping bags we'd brought with us.
