Campsite recommendation for single mum with 2yo

We're off camping this coming weekend to Roundhills in the New Forest. It'll be our first camping holiday and we're going with SWK and really looking forward to it.

I'd like to go away again at the end of July or in August with my 2yo DS for a Mon-Fri 4 night trip, but not travelling too far. We live just south of Oxford so the New Forest is ideal at just over an hour travel. Have looked at Durdle Door campsite in Dorset and it looks great, although pricey (approx 2hrs away) and Dornafield nr Newton Abbott (approx 3hrs) and Nicholaston Farm (approx 3 hrs). All look lovely and I'd quite like a to be near a beach because DS hasn't yet seen the sea! I don't want a completely rural campsite but don't want a huge one with too many rowdy families. Are there any other good ones anyone would recommend? TIA

Check the dates for the olympics sailing events which may make Dorset sites extremely busy in July / August!

CampsiteUK have a message forum with a board for meet ups for single parents on campsites!

(sorry - not familiar with sites oin the area you are looking at)

we went to seadown holiday park It has direct access onto Charmouth beach, which is a lovely beach full of sand, fossils and rockpools.

It's not a rural campsite, and pitches are quite tight (we have quite a large tent). But the toilets/showers are very clean and it had a very safe feel to it. No large groups when we went a couple of years ago.
