Hello.I am trying to plan city break followed by total chillout at a campsite. This one has been recommended (thank you mumsnetter) and i have looked it up as well and looks fab. We would like to get by without a car as we will be initially flying in and be city based. Has anybody stayed here without a car or just have knowledge of whether this campsite is close to transport links? We will generally be lounging by the pool (kids in pool). I will be post-op so think having exhausted myself doing city stuff will be in need of a restful time. We might want to go off though for a day or two - or just get into nearest village/town. Any views greatly appreciated. I am hoping to get booked this weekend as availability seems limited. cheers. kate

I think this might be the local bus route.

here

Grin (It's Sunday evening, I'm bored)

There's definitely a bus which goes along the main road which is called Via Grevigiana according to google maps goo.gl/maps/wWx5

On the timetable, Norcenni is between Ponte agli Stolle and Figline Valdarno.

Main problem seems to be that the buses are at really odd times, and I'm not sure that's going to help you get into Florence.

The campsite will do trips, I'm sure of that. In fact,

EC Vacanze is the company which runs the site, I've stayed in a few of their places, they're good.

13 euros though, eek!

I have been twice,it's a beautiful site and I would stay there again in a heartbeat, both times were in May and I think it might get slightly crowded in the summer. The top pool is fabulous,as are the restaurants and the surrounding coutryside is fantastic. The nearest town is Figline, from there Florence is easily accessible by train. We got a taxi down to the station on one occasion.I am afraid I don't know anything about buses, but there are organised excursions from the site.
