We are planning our first camping trip and this has never occured to me before but how do you secure your tent whilst out for the day?

I would agree that campsites are generally safe. I spent 2 summers working on sites in France & Spain and living in a tent. As it was in effect our home it had laptop, tv, camera, Ipods, PS3 etc. in it and we never had a thing stolen. You find on campsites that a lot of people spend time just relaxing around their pitch and making friends with the 'neighbours' so keep an eye out for each other. Of course there are exceptions but personally I feel that me and my belongings are safer on a campsite than a hotel complex.

Have a great holiday!

What would be the point of padlocking the zips on a tent?
A pair of ordinary nail scissors would cut a hole!
