No Yellow, in all seriousness, if you only occasionally do wilder camping, I wouldn't buy a pie iron. I love mine, but I grew up with it, so often use it at home, despite actually having an electric sandwich toaster. I find the Diablo so much easier to clean - when camping, most of the time I just wipe it clean, and then pop it in the dishwasher when home.
Blu, yes, I do use it on the campfire, but only really to the side and above colder coals. As it's so thin, it can burn quickly, but at least handle still fine. Just had a quick search, and it seems more people use it when camping here.
I think if you're going to eat your food there and then, foil probably makes more sense anyway as you can make everyone's at the same time, and bin the foil. No washing = good. To make a snack for walks etc though, this works well as everything is kept together.
