ASDA Trail Gazebo - I am in heaven

Take a look at this:

direct.asda.com/Ozark-Trail-Gazebo/000939831,default,pd.html

It folds up small (apparently) and gets great reviews. And it's only £25 (today at least). What is not to like? My no-more-camping-gear resolve lasted no longer than it took to find my credit card.

Perfect for those camps where our event shelter just will not fit in the car (and probably those where it will too)....

Oh I appear to have bought one of these too Grin And I didn't have to get my cc out, as it was already registered Blush

deste · 19/06/2012 21:43

I bought one of those last year. We pitch it next to the motorhome, we put the table and chairs in it. It really is brilliant, we have already used it this year.

AllOverIt · 20/06/2012 10:26

Oooops... just accidentally bought it. Damn it Wink

pinkhebe · 20/06/2012 19:19

I was in asda today and they had these so I bought one there and then, as we're going camping this weekend, and cancelled my direct order.

The bag is tiny and very light Grin

lostinindia · 20/06/2012 22:26

Flubba - so you can sit outside in the evening and not get eaten alive by midgies. Last time I went camping we had to retreat inside the tent in the evening to escape the biting things. Which was very boring.

Lovecat · 20/06/2012 22:52

Damn you, MN Camping threads!

I went to Asda and bought one thanks to this thread... my justification is that DD suffers horribly from midge bites and the netting sides of the gazebo will hopefully let us extend our evening... that and it's dinky and I'm a sucker for camping shite.

In view of recent threads in this topic I think I may soon need to stand up in my technical trousers and say My name is Lovecat and I am a Tent Hun. There.

flubba · 20/06/2012 23:40

Aaah - yes, that makes sense, thank you lostinindia

Mum2Fergus · 21/06/2012 17:45

Yay! Mine has arrived Smile super small and super light! Just need rain to stop to try it out lol

AllOverIt · 22/06/2012 11:37

It's arrived! GrinGrinGrin

It's super teeny tiny. In fact, I can't believe it. Putting it up at the weekend to test it out! Smile

Fuctifano · 23/06/2012 18:16

Can cook under it if it's raining - check, can escape sabre toothed midgies -check. And oh it's all tiny and compact. Thanks OP Grin

katcatkat · 24/06/2012 11:16

We got one after reading this and its great easy to put up (10mins) and goes back in its bag afterwards (bag is the size of a 2 man tent bag).
The best bit is that because its based on flexible camping poles in bends to the wind rather than breaking as we have had cheap normal gazebos do in the past (it was very very windy here yesterday).
We are going to use it as a cooking area/porch for our tent.

YellowDinosaur · 24/06/2012 16:02

Bollocks i'm going to have to get one aren't I?

AllOverIt · 24/06/2012 16:35

You are yellowdinoaur... Don't fight it! About to put ours up in the garden to test it out! Smile

AllOverIt · 24/06/2012 17:26

It's absolutely enormous! Oh my goodness! You'll need a big plot if you've got a big tent too!! Grin

katcatkat · 24/06/2012 18:10

we have a smallish tent (gelhert atlantis5) and no awning or porch area so its ideal for us but it is big
the only thing i was disappointed wit was the difficulty I had in pulling back the mesh to have it open the ties were not great and kept falling down (but this might improve with practice.

derekthehamster · 24/06/2012 18:21

very windy camping this weekend Grin and it stayed up!, it did bend somewhat, but didn't break or fall dawn

MummyPigsFatTummy · 24/06/2012 19:10

Oh all these reviews are brilliant. We haven't had a chance to put ours up yet and I can't wait to try it! Will have to wait to go camping in about three weeks now. So pleased it sounds like it was worth getting. Grin

Finally a sunny day to try out my purchase!! Love love love it!! Bigger than I expected, put up myself in just under 10mins, didnt have any problems with tiebacks, and folded back down and into the bag again in less than 10mins!! Smile

AllOverIt · 24/06/2012 20:58

Wow Fergus you put it up yourself? Do you have extraordinarily long arms? GrinWink

Mum2Fergus · 24/06/2012 21:15

Haha no, but is practically the same set up as the dome section of my Vango tent, and Ive managed that by myself for years lol
