We had to abandon our hols this week due to gale force wind breaking two poles and ripping larg hole in side of our kyham tent. So looking at repairing it - not too expensive but rip will never be the same I guess. OR buying different tent, with different pole set up and sewn in ground sheet - bit more costly but do-able. OR taking the plung and buying a folding camper (or maybe trailer tent) at more cost but like the idea of being in a caravan! Loved caravanning as a kid but can't afford one really. second hand folders dont seem too expensive and we could store it on the drive. Am feeling very put of campin at the mo but have loved it in the past! Got truly scared this week and we ended up sleeping in the car! HELP me decide! please x

Personally I would look at buying another tent with diiferent poles and sewn in ground sheet which should make it more stable. But I do love being in a tent.
We were caught in an electrical thunderstorm in France last year which really scared me but time passes and you will recover. My dd, called Eleanor!, was truly terrified but she has camped since and still loves it. We nearly slept in the car but luckily it did subside before bed.

I cannot see how a folding camper would be more stale than a well planned tent but perhaps that is just me.

I love my folding camper, sadly we too were caught out in the gales and now looking at replacing my very old folding camper with a tent. Only because I cant afford a new FC.
A folding camper is great, warm, and easy to use.
