We are booked in to a camp site but seriously wondering whether to cancel in view of the forecast. Anyone up that way to advise?

Hartland as in North Devon? I wouldn't. I'm in Okehampton and think it's going to be a bit rough. Family in North Devon say heavy rain and nasty winds, not a nice combination. You could ask OYBBK on the weather board?

Ooh yes good idea.

It's a terrible place in the wind and rain, although a great site. I wouldn't (again!).

Do you mean Stoke Barton Belinda? That's where we're booked.

DH also feeling rough - aftermath of stomach bug - so won't need much incentive not to go!

Yes, it was Stoke Barton. It really is a lovely site, but we went on a windy weekend (maybe raining too?) and had the worst night of our lives. The wind blows straight onto the site and there's no shelter really. I wouldn't want to put you off, but maybe try it in better weather!

Thank you - I think decision has been made! Rain I can cope with, but flapping, banging tents in the night - uuuurrrghhh!

Good choice.

We were supposed to go down to Sennen Cove tomorrow and have also cancelled. Didn't fancy pitching and packing away in the rain and being cold wet for 3 days.

I'm gutted though as I am 6 months pg and this was my only chance to camp this year.

Definitely right choice - my sister is there ( in a caravan ) and texted me to say they'd had to re-peg their awning in the wind earlier and now can't see the next caravan through the mist. We, on the other hand, are watching 'The Great Escape' with the fire on Grin. 'Tis gutting though - we haven't managed to camp at all yet this year as the good weather hasn't ever coincided with school hols.
