Bliss - I am going camping all by myself!

Just me, alone. Everyone else is away for the weekend so I have taken the opportunity. Not only alone, but to an adult only site! (I do wonder whether that won't be a step too far and be a bit miserablist and grumpy-old-womanish), the Blackberry Wood overspill site. In August!

Really looking forward to it.

Has anyone else got experience of this? Anything I should know?

I haven't camped by myself for 14 years... ddtwins are 13.

I used to service the washrooms empty the lady bins on an adults only site. I had driven past the site hundreds of times and had often wondered (in an entirely non-smutty fashion of course :o) what went on behind the incredibly high privet hedges.

Sad to relate that when I got there the average age was about 70 and they seemed to spend all day playing bridge and discussing the Daily Mail (though I am not of course entirely sure they were doing this with their own spouses :o)

Sorry to put a dampener on the adults only thing but thats my only experience, and I could never forgive myself if you accidentally got swept up in a bridge playing, Daily Mail reading swingers party that I could in some way of prevented :o

Childfree weekend camping has got to be bliss, regardless of the newspaper preferences of one's fellow campers.

TBH it was the extraordinarily high hedges that gave me cause to wonder, how high are the hedges at Blackberry Fields?

We once recce'd Blackberry Woods for a group trip pre-children. We didn't stay in the end because the trek across fields to the nearest pub cost put us off.

I second chipmonkeys' assertion though, it is not a DM readers' site. Can't answer for other newspaper-reading swingers though...

yes, Jan - that's exactly how it is - on it's first outing it was on the front seat - with the seat belt round it!

I am going camping tomorrow for a week at an event with some friends and people I know vaguely. However (I'm a single mum) I will be leaving 4 year old DS with his granny, very looking forward to it! First proper break I've had since he was born, too. :) Camping alone is the business.

I have now discovered a naturist campsite in N Norfolk - it's a v small site, sounds lovely...I could be freeeEEEEEEEE like the wind without embarrassing DS.

More like freeeeeeeeezing IN the wind though.

My Icey Tek is happy naked as god intended, I don't even cover it with one of the special seat pads.
