I've put my bell tent up for the first time.

it is so easy to put up, took less than 10 mins. I'm only 5ft2" and as it's the 5m tent I'd been worried I wouldn't be able to do it but I can, on my own as well. Though I can't really pick it up, had to drag the bag down the garden. But I do think I'd be able to wrestle it in and out the car which I figure is all I need to be able to do.

Dd and a friend slept in it last night. It is massive inside, really, really big. Love it.

I'm in love with mine too-wish I was camping this weekend!

Have even managed to get it back in the bag. I haven't slept in it yet but am going to in half term. Though I've just seen a weather forecast and it looks like it's going to be cold, below freezing at night cold!

I'm the same height and I cna get mine up no probs. Smile Takes a wee bit of heft to get the pole up but it does make you feel smug, doing it by yourself! Grin

Yay! I can do mine on my own too. Am 5ft 2.5.

It takes me about 15mins but that's coz I have a thing about the pole being in the right place. All kids and DH sensibly clear off at tent erecting time!

VivaLeBeaver · 27/05/2012 22:51

I did realise today when I took it down that the central pole was upside down! Grin

Also, I found a random patch of groundsheet material in a little circle, the same diameter as the base of the pole. Am I meant to put it under the centre pole?

So glad you enjoyed putting up the new bell, it will get quicker each time and i think its easier on your own. Certainly they are the tent to have to avoid marital rows!

Yep, you guessed right :) aim for the patch and then wiggle and jiggle it really straight. (Starlight, you are not alone - you only need to worry if you pack a mini spirit level)

The other important thing is to have your guylines in line with the seams of the panels.

Then of course its down to that age old question: to bunt or not to bunt!!
