Why is it only me who's excited?!

Tada!! A thread for people who are genuinely excited about their holidays :)We are off on holiday in a little over 3 weeks and the men of the household (DH and DS (8)) are being decidedly reserved about it all- grrrr! I on the other hand am so excited I cannot sleep at times :o

Having spent most of my childhood visiting if we were unlucky the same Pontins site year after year I LOVE holidays and plan with an almost maniacal devotion and enthusiasm. This year, after two very wet years camping in the UK, we are returning to the South of France. It is a cheapy EuroCamp tent job as I am researching for taking my own stuff next time and DH and DS are mutinying at the idea of ever camping again

We are going on the Tunnel (another source of great anticipation for me :o) as we are taking the ginger dog and having an overnight stop there and back to give my knees the car a break. This means that we effectively only have 5 nights on our main site but its the best we could afford.

The downside being that if I do not manage to sell the spare car (not as grand as it sounds, DH now has a works van :o) we will have no spending money, and I do not yet have my new passport (it should be on its way to me any day now Hmm) The sat-nav is also grossly out of date so I may have to rely on DH's "legandary" map reading. This is not enough to deter me and I plough on with my fanatical reading of maps and websites while THEY roll their eyes and say things like "its AGES away yet" Angry They also accuse me of making a small clicky sort of tutting noise which I only do when I get excited, this is apparently also "too soon"

So we are going to catch crayfish, go rock climbing (me anyway) go to the markets, take the blow up boat out, go geocaching, eat starling (!) and generally eat, drink and be merry :)

Where is everyone else off to and up to then?

I know what you mean ENorma, until the sun finally came out this week I was finding it hard to really imagine myself there. Just hope this weather hangs on now.

Here, come obsess about clothes Smile

Quenelle, that site looks lovely! We like low key sites.

We are going camping at Womad too, I forgot that one. Never been before but it seems quite child-friendly.

Countdown set at two weeks, let the list writing commence :o I LOVE lists, DH says they make his eyes itch. However I have never forgotten anything major (unless you count forgetting to change the money up for a trip to Malta :))
Hooray!!

C -4 for me. I am beside myself with excitement.

DS is getting in the spirit now. He tells us and anyone who will listen that we're 'going on a BIG BOAT!' Love him.

You carry on with your lists Bannana. Holidays simply cannot happen without them.
