We got permission from school today to take Dd3 out for a week in July, Dd2 finsihes her GCSE's soon, so we are off to the River Dart again.

I am so excited now I have booked it. We can't do big places in the summer hols but last time we went in term time it was fab.

I have even booked the pitch I wanted.Smile

Just need to find somewhere to go at whitsun now if the weather improves. Am not going until the Tuesday so I don't think I will have too much trouble finding somewhere.

Oo, tell me all the good things about it - we've booked for 4 nights in the summer on recommendation from friends.

Well , it is beautiful surroundings for a start. There is a massive dry adventure play ground and a water based one and a couple of other smaller play areas.

My girls love the water based one, there is a wooden boat in the middle of a shallow lake and an assualt course and a rope swing.

The showers in the Woodlands block are great [don't know about the others] there is just about everything you could need really.

The only sad thing for us is that they have closed the swimming pool but there were people swimming in the river just off the site so we might give that a try.

It depends how old your DC's are and how adventurous really but my Dd's loved it and we had the first relaxing holiday for about 10 yrs, some days we didn't move off the site.
Hope you enjoy itSmile.

We're going in August with 3 year old and 13 year old. Hoping for some sunshine. Have fun!

That sounds great. DCs are little - 6, 4 and 20 months but friend's are older. I like the idea of not leaving the site Smile.

Ooh, I went there 30 years ago when I was little. I still remember it happily. You'll have a great time.
