Our pop together pole popped apart - any tips on an easy fix?

We've got an outwell Vermont tent, and when we were packing it away last weekend, one of the the poles pulled completely apart, rather than having a springy type thing to keep it joined conveniently together.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so how did you fix it?

Have used duct tape a few times on tent and caravan awning poles, held together ok.

Thanks, but we need them to come apart to pack them up!

The pole itself isn't broken, just the fancy joining together bit.

we just used to cut the tape off and redo it each time, a bit of a faff though.

Its sometimes worth contacting the manufacturer or local camping shops for a replacement. I have occasionally seen random poles for sale very cheaply in camping shops but have always wondered where they came from

Would we need to buy an entire replacement pole do you think? It's just one of the joints that has pulled too far apart bringing the stretchy bit that joins the 2 sections together with it!

Ours is an Outwell. We took the pole back to the shop that we bought the tent from and they replaced it free of charge. It was only the second time we'd used the tent though.

Ours is a couple of years old, but that would be worth a try. Thanks.
