we are off to longthorns too, first time. are showers that bad? the ukcampsite reviews sometimes mention poor toilets, but we're just pleased to have smallish site, campfires close to swanage. we'll be arriving when most people are going though - we're booked for the end of half term week.

Doing trial run of first camping with baby...in my parent's back garden!

We can't go anywhere again. Our village is having a jubilee fete and I'm on the parish council so have to be involved.

I am determined to go camping very soon though.

I'm fed up that the recent rise in people camping has meant that all our favourite sites are now fully booked. A few years ago you didn't need to book, but just turn up [old gimmer emoticon]

We are spending the half term under a slate roof rather than canvas (or synthetic equivalent). But we have a campfire every night, and sometimes cook over it.

Supposed to be camping the weekend after next but the forecast is still cold and windy. Sad

Tyaca we will stills be there Grin
Boris, some sites I called still don't take bookings Smile

We're off to Kingsury Water Park near Birmingham.

We did Birmingham last year for the bank holiday, this year have an extra day which is lovely. Cadbury World and a trip down memory lane are in order

lisa, look out for inexperienced campers with two spirited young kids.

blu, we're meant to be going away last weekend of may too. been thinking of you cause we are going to nethergong and know you have mentioned it a couple of times as somewhere you want to try out. will post review.

lisad123 · 13/05/2012 14:41

Well I'm sure you won't miss my spirited little girls and a chocolate brown labradoddle!

Good stuff, Tyaca!

We still haven't fixed a booking for that weekend...

Going to Nantcol Waterfalls :) Having had an unexpectedly gorgeous May BH weekend in North Wales I am quietly excited :o :o
