Aerobeds...worth the extra money ?

Toying with the idea of getting an aerobed for camping as I had really bad hip pain whilst sleeping on our lovely new SIM's . If you have one what do you think of them? Are they warm at night or does it feel like your sleeping on a cold cloud of air? Do you bounce off when your partner rolls over? Sorry about all the questions but I have made an expensive mistake buying the sims and don't want to mess up again.

I've slept on one in the past and it was comfy but I'm not sure it's better than a normal airbed - certainly not enough for me to buy one myself. I don't like SIMs - we use flocked airbeds.

Thanks grockle I thought I was the only person in the world who found sims uncomfy Grin

We take a kingsized aerobed camping. With a mattress topper Grin it is vv comfy, and dh and I are a bit arthriticy

Blimey CMOT do you drove a trick to fit all the stuff in Wink. I have lots of reviews and the majority are good though quite a few say they leak air a lot and the seams are flimsy.... Have you found this to be the case ?

We use an aerobed when camping. It is V comfy but does need topping up every 2 or 3 days (but it is about 14 years old so that may be why)

Actually, the mattress topper isn't very thick, but it stops sweaty airbed feeling. We do have a Land Rover though Grin

It doesn't leak air, and I wouldn't say flimsy at all. We've had this one 5 years, and it gets slept on regularly by visitors, and we've had no issues

Thanks all I may have to take the plunge Grin

I would say it is. We did have a leak in the 1st year with ours, but under guarantee so changed it, got a new one and so far so good, not that we've been able to do much bloody camping with this sodding weather!!!!

Very comfy, very easy to put up and deflate, packs up small (actually fits back in the bag!)

We have a thick groundsheet and carpet under the bed for insulation, not been cold.

We love ours, although it does have a small leak after about 4 years. we just inflate it every night before bed and its fine. Its very easy to inflate etc and I find it really comfy. We have the double but next time I'd go for the king size as the dog loves it too..... Like the idea of a mattress topper, but sadly there is NO room in the car!!
