Anyone been to Debden House in Essex?

What's it like as I have seen mixed reviews on ukcampsite....

I've been a few years ago, it's fair to say it's rather 'relaxed' from a rules point of view. The fire pit fields are very popular with large groups and people even set fireworks off at one point!

We stayed in the main field nar the entrance and although the rest of the site appeared full that was virtually empty, had absolutely loads of room which was great. The facilities were a bit dodgy, although the ones on the main field were usually empty if not especially clean.

For no reason I can really put my finger on, though, we really loved it there, quirky but fun, but if I'd been in the middle of the firework people in a nylon tent I might not be so keen....

we had horrible time.. gangs of kids roaming around til v late kicking balls/cans whatever at peoples cars/tents etc lots of lairy drunken groups and litter everywhere ....I usually love relaxed sites with fires but never again...

I've not been yet but have quite a few friends who have and all loved it. I've seen some mixed reviews though...
