I've got 3 trips planned but want to do more. So far, we have:

Wareham (Longthorns Farm) - May Bank Holiday
Lyme Regis (Hook Farm) - June (half term)
Camp Bestival - July

Longthorn farm too Grin
Love lane (little site nearby to sort out camper)
And no doubt mersea island at some point

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 20/04/2012 22:18

The Green Caravan Park in Ludlow.

Grockle · 20/04/2012 22:25

Lisa, we were meant to be there at Easter but I had a bad back and DS was ill so we postponed. The owners sound lovely - I'm really excited!

We have been before. Please be prepared that the toilets aren't great and showers not always hot Sad BUT the site makes up for it. We are there for half term in June including the bank holiday Grin

Warm clothes, layers. Easy cooking food, if you can cook and freeze before you go it's easier.
A kettle, wine and wellies

Oooh hello Grockle! We're camping at Corfe Castle in a couple of weeks time (but I can't remember the name of the site), and usually camp in the New Forest at some point. Love Lyme but have rellies there so usually visit there.

I'd wondered about Camp Bestival but I don't think we will make it. I have looked up and the castle does have a campsite that we might use off peak though....

We appear to be in your neck of the woods!

lisad123 · 20/04/2012 22:41

I wanted to camp at Toms field this year but they don't take bookings Sad

Milliways · 20/04/2012 22:50

We are going to Willowcroft in June and hope to take a boat trip out to see the seals. We also want to try some local sites to test our new Motorhome before the long trip to Norfolk.

Hebiegebies · 20/04/2012 22:52

We've got 2 family parties when we will camping in the field next to party houses. Then 2 festivals, full week and a long weekend
:)

difficultpickle · 20/04/2012 22:52

None so far. Ds was asking today what our plans are. We are getting a new car so will have loads of room for all the camping stuff. I need to plan some trips. Smile

poorbuthappy · 20/04/2012 22:53

We stayed at Hook Farm last year, was lovely.
Nothing booked yet this year, depends on redundancy news middle of May Sad.

Poorbuthappy - is there anything I need to know about the site? Are the showers ok?! Sorry about your impending news. Waiting to find out is awful Sad

I don't know Kent/ Sussex so can't help with that.

Tom's field is meant to be lovely.

Cannock chase in June half term.
Keeling Heath, Norfolk in august.

Grockle · 20/04/2012 23:12

Ooo, Kelling Heath! We used to do the Nature Trail there every year. Fond memories!

Camp bestival (and cb virgin), followed by scilly isles, then cornwall.
Hoping to do the June half term on isle of wight, camp site recommendation would be good, not a holiday park though.

VivaLeBeaver · 20/04/2012 23:31

Is it nice there? Not been before. Am hoping the pitches aren't too small as some review mention this. I think they said the pitch is 7m x 9m, but I have a big 5m bell tent so worried will be cramped......

Can always leave the car in the car park bit I guess as our pitch is right near the car park. Were next to the track coming into the main camp bit but the woman assures me there won't be a lot of cars and it's got hedges all round it so it's nice. Hmm

Grockle · 20/04/2012 23:35

I've never stayed there, Viva - I'm more of a basic camper but the site has loads of stuff. Shop, clubhouse, pool etc. I've walked through it many times and it's never seemed crowded but ut may well have changed. Am sure it'll be lovely. I wish I was going to Norfolk this year.

Ok, thanks grockle.

cheerup · 21/04/2012 07:07

Team Edward - try Cedar Gables, you can walk to Bewel water, the toilets are lovely and the owners very friendly. It's where we went to trial our new tent last year. Very reasonable too.

poorbuthappy · 21/04/2012 07:45

Grockle no surprises there!
Showers were lovely. Big changing area actually in the shower so you can take the kids in and get them clean before you jump in. I think I used less than a pound for the 4 of us.

Dh has just mentioned something about the ground being ridiculously difficult to get pegs into. Although that may be something to do with us not taking a mallet. Hmm

issyocean · 21/04/2012 08:35

South Penquite Farm for May Bank holiday weekend
Beeches in June for a girly camping weekend with my friends
Somewhere in France in August
And hopefully lots of last minute unplanned weekends too!

Grockle · 21/04/2012 13:58

Ah, will make sure I pack the mallet. I usually forget & have to buy one so have a small collection!
