What do we need for a mere one night of camping?

The title says it all really. We (me, dh, 2xdds) are going camping (for the first time) for a mere one night. The campsite does not have water or electricity connections to pitches. What do I need to beg/buy/steal/borrow? I think we'll be having a bbq with friends for dinner.

Blow up beds or sleeping mats, sleeping bags and fleece blankets (we take bed quilts as well)Being cold is the most miserable thing so make sure you will all be warm.

One ring gas burner and kettle for hot drinks, frying pan for bacon and eggs in the morning.Cool box and ice packs.Large umbrella for holding over gas burner while you cook breakfast in the rain Grin

Everything issy said, plus fleecy sleepsuits fir the dd's (regardless of how old) toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up bowl and a jug or something to use as a water container. Critter-proof coolboxWink

Are you camping with the friends? What are their plans for breakfast? If they have all the gear for cooking, you could bring the food rather than investing in stuff you might not use again. Otherwise you could consider eating out.

You will also need crockery and cutlery, torches/lamps. Something to carry water in (one of those 5L bottles from the supermarket would do). Glow sticks and lots of wine/beer/cider/ all of the above. Grin

I am doing a one night camp soon (we usually do a few nights so take all the kit) so am making life easy for myself by taking hot chocolate in a flask, cereal boxes and milk for DC's unfeasibly early 'first' breakfast and then heading off to a cafe for a fryup and taking to few bits of washing up home, rinsed out
Otherwise, I think I'd probably need as much it as for a week!
