Camp beds...do I need lots of layers between me and the bed?

I have just acquired two camp beds and we will be taking them camping tomorrow night.

Do I need lots of layers underneath me, like if I was using an airbed? I usually use a SIM and rarely feel cold (although, have never camped as early as this before). If so, would a blanket be enough or would I need something thicker?

I'm just about to take them out of their bags to set them up and decide whether to take them or not.

Camp beds are ace but have a practice before you go as they can be a real pain to put up!

The most effective thing to do is to put your backpacks, coats, picnic blanket etc. under the camp bed so that they completely fill the space between the tent floor and the bottom of the bed. If you don't think you have enough stuff to do this for everyone then pack more fold up a fleece blanket and use it between the sleeping bag and the bed.

Thanks, I've just had a lie down on one Grin. I'm a little concerned that it won't hold my weight Blush but my dad assures me that it will ... it'd better!

Will pack some extra blankets but I'm sure we'll have plenty to stash underneath them!
