So who hasn't chickened out of camping this Easter?

I can't decide if she should go and give it a try over at the lakes where we are booked. DH doesn't want to but I want to try my new tent out. I just don't know what to do?
Anyone else braving it? or has anyone chickened out?

We went to Corfe Castle last monday. Was very cold at night but with the help of EHU and lots of fleece we were fine.

We're booked til today but came back yesterday aft as the tent was bone dry!

Holmsley is just down the road from us. I'm not entirely sure what happened. Very sad news Sad

We're off tomorrow for our first trip in our camper that we bought a few weeks ago. Despite the weather forecast, we're going as the kids would be really disappointed if we cancelled!

We went Friday and came back this afternoon and managed to pack the tent away at just the right moment. DS most annoyed that he couldn't eat his dinner outside tonight LOL

we're heading off tomorrow lunchtime until Friday - not sure where we're going yet but it will be somewhere in Devon or Cornwall [busmile]

I have a new tent and I will go camping!

We still went. Went Friday when it was sunny and warm and glorious! Was a bit nippy at night though.

However Saturday was different! Bloody cold but great fun and do glad I went. Children had the best time ever and with lots of blankets, duvets and thermals.

We still went, was brilliant, had missed camping so much!!
DS was in a minimum of 4 layers at all times so remained toasty warm and slept thru at night beautifully. AND he had no tantrums all weekend (he's 2!) So that was an added bonus...... Was very windy on sunday night and was slightly concerned about blowing away but DH and I still kept snuggly warm too......
Highlight has to be sat round campfire with ds on my knee and the dogat my feet - idilic!
3 and a half weeks till we go again!!!

Glad you had such a good time MrsMc82, we are trying to plan a trip close by just to get away. Campfire is a must though, but trying to find sites that allow it is tricky. Was at Fisherground last summer and it was so nice to have the fire to keep warm drink wine by.

Mulled wine + camp fire will make you super warm cosysocks !!

We managed it in central France. We were the only ones in a tent, apart from a German family who went home early because they were too cold.
Was very relieved that we opted for EHU as our electric fan heater kept us lovely and warm.
It was warmer than in the UK though - no frost just a cold wind.
Good Friday was a beautiful warm sunny day - shame it didn't last!

We went to Aviemore and woke up to a thick layer of snow. It went down to minus three. We had a heated throw with us and a down quilt and an electric heater. I don't think I could have been in a tent with no proper heating but we did have a good time.
