I know it's been done before, but I can't find the thread. What's the best order to put the various layers on top of the groundsheet?
I have:
SIMS
Foil blankets
Fleece blankets
sleeping bags
PJs and hats
and duvets in the car for if it gets really cold

And a quick poll:
Which way round do you sleep (assuming you've managed to picth on flat ground Wink)?

A. Feet nearest the door
B. Head nearest the door
c. Sideways

I put a foil blanket on the ground, then mattress, then fleece blanket, then sheet, then me then sleeping bag/duvet. If it's really cold then I put another fleece blanket around me before getting into bed.

Oh and I always sleep feet nearest the door.

Grockle · 01/04/2012 21:33

Dunno and it's too cold to contemplate sleeping in a tent - I think we won't camp this week Sad

But

A. Definitely

Hi Chippy!! How are you?

You are surely not Easter camping, are you?

Feet nearest door for me.

I think I've done: plastic backed picnic blanket type thing, airbed, blanket, fitted quilted mattress cover, sleeping bag, fleece blanket. Wearing pj's, fleece and snuggle socks. No hats here.

Stinky! How are you? Long time no see - how's DS1 doing?

Not Easter camping, but the early May bank holiday. Going with the scout leaders family camp, which means I have to sleep in a tent, and with my damp and smelly DC too! Have bought a lovely new decathlon pop-up marvel, which will no doubt cause mirth at packing-up time as I try to wrestle it back into its bag Grin

So, layers beneath me, not so much on top is the way to go, thanks mrspnut and stinky.

That sounds like fun! We've got a pop up as well as our proper tent, and they are the Devil to fold up! I popped ours up in the dining room last year to remind myself how big it was and couldn't fold it up again - had to wait for dp to get home from work!!

I'm sure the leaders will help you and not all just stand around watching and laughing Hmm.

Ds1 is doing so well. I'm hoping he may be able to get to cubs occasionally after Easter. Ds2 starts Beavers as well after Easter so may well see you at events.

ChippyMinton · 01/04/2012 22:21

That's good news Smile DD is at Weds Cubs, so hopefully see you there. DS1 has just gone up to scouts

I have been studying the folding-up video. Intently!
