Camping in Northumberland

Ive persuaded my husband that we should dust off out tent and equipment and take the kids camping :)

Can anyone recommend family friendly sites in Northumberland? We are in Durham and dont want to be too far from home, and have done the Lakes in the rain before so looking for somewhere different!! Looking at booking for the June half term. Quiet sites suit us best, as long as there's a shower block, and maybe a play area for the kids... thanks in advance!

Seaside or hills?

Marking my place, also in Durham and really want to take the tent out a couple of weekends over the summer.

Highburn House at Wooler was quiet when we went there. Its in open country but five minute walk from the town which has everything you could need.

What about Keilder ?
It has a stream nearby, path along through wood to the pub ( which kept traditional hours and closed Monday )
Lovely dark skies for stargazing
