Holy shit !!! I just went to investigate said icey tek coolers. First off they are cheaper there than they are here and the site I looked at said its an American company !!. Second thing is I can get a 12 volt freezer that runs off the car battery or a separate deepcycle battery for not much more.

We have just bought an old 1/4 ton military trailer that Dh is turning into a "kitchen" for me to take camping and we are going to put a 12 volt freezer in it( not this year cos of all the expense involved in doing up said trailer). I was looking for a better cooler to tide me over this year. Guess it wont be an icey-tek :o

Yes, but I don't want a cooler that runs off the car battery. We often camp in places where cars are not allowed in the woods or on the camping field. Hence the attraction of the Icey Tek!

Do you find the 12v coolers good? The one my friend had only kept stuff at a certain number of degrees below ambient temp, so not really icy cold in summer. Icey Teks keep things frozen!

We've been using ours for 2 weeks now in the kitchen and are really impressed with it. Our wine is chilled very nicely
