Look at wareham/swanage areas.
We loved longthorne farm but the terrible shower was enough to stop me going back Blush
We have a folding camper, a large dog and need electric hook up.

Wanted to book toms field, but fully booked Sad
Have given in and booked long thorn. I have two friends nearby who I can go and steal a shower from Grin

Ooh ooh I know the BEST campsite round there: Burnbake. Tis v near Tom's field, not far from corfe. Lovely site, half of it in the woods, not regimented lines of pitches like some can be.

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 16:07

What are toilets and showers like?

OP posts:
topsmart · 15/03/2012 16:45

Mostly ok. Half of them are 'outdoors' so I avoided those Smile You buy tokens in the campsite shop to pay for the showers. Definitely not the worst I've ever seen.

topsmart · 15/03/2012 16:47

Here's their site: www.burnbake.com/
Check the bit about electric pick ups - not sure if they're completed yet or not, best call.

topsmart · 15/03/2012 16:48

And they open from easter, I think.

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 17:47

Thanks, can't find anything about electric hook up. Sad
If it was just weekend I wouldn't mind but as we will be there all week Confused

Norden farm, we have booked to go there this easter and cant wait

Grockle · 15/03/2012 19:07

Oh no, I just booked Longthorn farm!

We love Woody Hyde at Swanage

hels71 · 15/03/2012 19:10

We are going to Norden Farm at EAster too...I have never been but a friend has and she says it is very nice. They also have a folding camper...

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 21:31

When for grockle? We love the site, the kids love it too. I'm the only one who has a problem because I like clean toilets and hot showers, and Longthorns is a bit hit and miss.
Hopefully your there the same weekend as me and we can drown sorrows with wine and a fire pit Grin

Easter weekend, lisa. I only love down the road. I'm worried now - I don't mind basic but I need hot showers.

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 21:39

Shower was normally hot but once got stuck as half way though washing my hair It went cold Angry
Shame I'm there in June Smile but maybe I can come and steal your shower Grin

OP posts:
Grockle · 15/03/2012 21:41

Oh no! I'll wash my hair quickly, just in case.

We might go back in June, in which case, I'll see you there! What do you do round there? I want to take DS back to Monkey world but what else?

fivegomadindorset · 15/03/2012 21:45

YOur DS would love the tank museum, we go when it is raining, DC's love it.

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 21:48

We have a big brown labradoddle who loves walking in the woods. We go to swanage beach, corfe castle, we love moors valley for a great day out, and visit a few friends in the area. Crabbing at mudeford too Smile

Shoshe · 15/03/2012 21:49

We stayed here www.bagwellfarm.co.uk/, would highly recommend it.

Grockle · 15/03/2012 21:52

We do those things all the time Lisa... I'm spoiled living round here. I've never been to the Tank museum but my friend works there and keeps offering me free tickets. Must accept the offer!

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 22:15

I'm very Envy
But not too much as moving there ourselves hopefully within the year Smile

Grockle · 15/03/2012 22:21

Ooo, exciting Lisa. It's the best place in the world (and I've lived in lots of places)

FortynotFat · 15/03/2012 22:26

We love longthorns and go there a lot. The toilets stop me drinking too much as they are so rank no way could I use then with a hangover !

The children absolutely love that site

FortynotFat · 15/03/2012 22:27

We live close by and dh drives home for a crap each morning

Grockle · 15/03/2012 22:28

But really, Lisa - Woody Hyde is lovely - the steam train runs along the edge of the campsite and there are little wooded areas where the DC can play. It's about half-way between swanage and corfe. And the showers are ok!

lisad123 · 15/03/2012 22:37

Thanks, finding most aren't taking bookings and it seems first come first served. With 2 SN kids and a large camper it's not possible go us to not book and plan.
They all look fab, quite surprised at cost of some!

I'm often surprised at the cost of camping. Have a lovely time wherever you end up
