Like a balm for the soul. I urge you most strongly to view this splendid tent pitching video.

Before I post the link I will give you some pointers to maximise your viewing pleasure.

Yes, the juxtaposition of spa music as background to man with trousers tucked into socks being industrious in the outdoors is an unusual choice but I think it works.

Opening shot and no indeed, your eyes are not deceiving you, that is indeed a man in a forest in the dark in a tent with a fire and a desk! All sorts of questions arise from that.

Note how the tent comes out of the bag. luxuriantly and also pegged down so it doesn't fly away.

At 5.30 there commences an exciting period in the film involving the many doors.

7.50 he's just walking through those doors. Right through. Nothing is stopping him. NOTHING.

and what must be the best climax to a tent pitching video, at 8.16 the quite supremely fabulous natty little cover for the stove pipe.

enjoy

Oh my poor sides laughing at this! It was all the fondling that did it for me, particularly the air vent - yikes! |I'm all for a bit of tent porn but this has taken it to a whole new and particularly deviant level IMO.

Nope, you lost me at 1.33 when he started getting out the bendy poles

No amount of flutey music, bag-fondling and sitting at a desk in a tent can make up for five (FIVE! Count the bendy bastards!!) bendy poles.

Slubberdegullion · 12/03/2012 20:33

Lovecat I think we have to assume that because this tent costs £1,150 before you have even started buying the optional inners or floor or porch poles Hmm that there is something deeply magical and special about those bendy poles.
They probably have ground unicorn horn in them, or diamonds.

OMFG £1,150???? Shock You could have 5 of these with money left over for some pretty luxurious bunting and a tarp. No bendy poles in sight.

Slubberdegullion · 12/03/2012 21:02

Yeah but none of your five Quechuas would have a little flap for the stove pipe losty.

Nuff said.

Is the plinky Muzak drowning out all the swearing and the threats of divorce?
For that money I'd want that man to come and put the thing up for me.
