Looking to book up in May for a weekend camping in the New Forest area. Can anyone recommend a good campsite?

We stayed here last May. But we had a posh lodge with a hot tub Grin Not exactly in the New Forest, but very near.

Holmsley... is lovely :-) x

I dunno that any are particularly homely but you could look around the Godwinscroft area of Bransgore...

Otherwise Setthorns and Sandy Balls are meant to be good for tents/vans

Try the Hoburne group or Shorefields if you want a static caravan

We stayed at Long Meadow last year and it was lovely. The site itself was very open, but it was next to the forest and DC were able to roam freely. They even went to the stream by themselves where there were loads of kids playing. Highly recommended.

Another vote for Long Meadow, the owners are lovely people and it's a fab site, very basic but good showers/washing facilities. The location is fantastic, unlike Hollands Woods across the road it's pony-proofed, and the local bike hire place will deliver and collect bikes to the site.
