Caravaners - what car do you tow with.

DH and are have decided to buy a caravan, we have always camped but as we get older it's just too much hard work.

Before we buy a van a need to buy a new car as current car wouldn't be able to cope.

So what car do you tow with?, there are 4 of us, and we need a big boot for 2 dogs. Powerful enough to tow a four birth caravan.

We are thinking range rover but the ones we could afford would be eight years old ish, they are so money for such an older vehicle are they worth it?

We've got a 2nd hand Nissan X Trail for a 5 berth van. Had some problems with it, but still think it's reliable and good for towing. Lots of people have Honda CRVs. Would you be wanting an estate for the dogs? Have you had a look at What Tow Car for reviews and the calculations??

If you go on the caravan club website they have outfit matching tools, so you can see which car tows which van and what the drawbacks are.

We had a Volvo V70 and couldn't recommend highly enough!
