Vango 'lights out' inner tents - any good?

I have a Vango Icarus 600 2010 model which I love. I do not, however, love being woken up at 5.30am by a small voice saying 'hooray it's morning!!!'

In the 2011 Icarus models they put in darker sleeping pods and I'm looking for any views on how well these work, if at all. I'm toying with selling my 2010 model and getting a 2012 number if I think it's going to improve things. (Don't want to change model though as I have canopy, carpet and footprint)

I've read one person on hear say that she was disappointed by how light their vango "lights out" inner tent was. Haven't had occasion to use ours yet but think I will put our DS who will be 18 mo when we go on our first trip inside our P&T travel cot as that should block out the worst of it.
