What sort of child-friendly do you want? Woods for them to explore or a playground? Do you want an onsite cafe and shop? And an hour or two from which side of London?

For a holiday park style site, I have heard Wellington Park praised, or for a site with farm animals, Palace Farm. I haven't been to either. The close to London sites I like are Forgewood, or Welsummer, they are lovely but quite back-to-nature basic.

Hurley is reasonably close to Legoland.

Wilksworth Farm, Dorset, Chestnut Meadows, Bexhill. Both top notch.
