Camping and Cycling.....where should we go?

We have "dabbled" with camping over the past few years (the odd night here and there) but last year decided to go for it and bought a Kampa Holkham 6-and we love it. We are really keen to make use of it loads this year. We have DD (9) and DS (5 nearly 6). DS has just started riding a bike properly (more than just a lap or 2 around the park) and we'd like to camp somewhere that has easy access to fairly easy, but scenic cycling / walking. We were hoping to go to France, but due to our business expanding that's not going to be possible this year, so I'm after some UK recommendations please. We are in Devon BTW and don't want to travel more than 3/4 hours ideally. Also, we prefer quieter evenings and not too big. TIA Smile

Cotswold Water Park?

We have done cycling in Devon - good cycle paths near Padstow and old railway tracks to Oakhampton and down to Plymouth. But this may be where you live.
Have tried Cornwall but found it a bit hilly in places. The Clay Pit trail near St Austell worked OK with children though. There is also a good cycle track / old railway path near Bodmin.
You could head towards Bath/Bradford upon Avon and use the canal towpaths. These are very easy cycling and popular with families.

Kennet & Avon Cycle Route?

IndigoBell - wow! Cotswold Water Park looks amazing Grin
Thanks for the links x
crazymum53 - Okehampton is very close to us.....that's the sort of cycling we like!! Hadn't thought of Cornwall, but now you mention it I have vague memories of a track at Padstow. Don't know why, but never think of Cornwall as a holiday. Which is silly really, because there's as much there as anywhere else.
Ooo-and Bath. Love Bath.
Ideal 3 trips to plan now.....thansk guys Smile

The Camel Trail goes from Bodmin all the way up to Padstow and is a very good cycle path. Understand that it may be too close to home to feel like a holiday though elephant!

Derbyshire. Monsal trail. Tissington trail and manifold valley. Took DS (aged 4) and grp of children over there at new year. Was great family cycling

Slimbridge Wetlands - we stayed at the Tudor Caravan Park (in a tent) albeit going back a few years now. But the wetlands looked popular for cycling.
