13 month old- what to sleep in?

Hi we are looking forward to getting the tent out again this summer, never went last year as pregnant/had a new born.

My question is, my LO will be 13/14 months when we go this year, we go to a very basic site in the scottish highlands and it can be absolutely freezing at night. So what should he be sleeping in? A proper sleeping bag or just his baby sleeping bag and a good fleecy sleepsuit and vest? I was just going to put him in a blow up mattress with me but put him in top of a sheepskin for a bit of extra insulation.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!

At that age ds2 (now aged 2) had pjs/babygro with a fleecy suit over the top and his baby sleeping bag on top of that (in a travel cot) with a cellular blanket for if it was extra cold/damp. We thought that we were going a bit overboard but it does get really chilly at 2am and he would have been very cold around his neck without the layers.

This year he'll still have pjs, fleecy suit, in a ready-bed with a blanket.

Ds was 1 last year and I had him on an air bed with me.

He was in vest, fleecy pjs and bed socks.

We shared dh's 4 season sleeping bag.
