Always run big purchases by Mumsnetters before I buy... We love camping and have outgrown our old tent. Because we camp a lot in the UK we need a big 'indoor' space for the kids to play (8,4 & 2) and to cook etc when it rains. Last time I looked I liked the Aztec Asilo as this had two separate sleeping pods and a massive space in between for hanging out in. Have you got a tent you like/ don't like?

How big is your tent's 'living space'? And how high? I am 6ft!

Are there any websites that do reviews of tents? I know a fab one, ukcampsite.co.uk I think it is, that does campsite reviews but don't know if they do tents.

Also - which is better, a tunnel or a dome? And easier to put up! Our current one is a nightmare!

WildDay.com has sopme brilliant looking 6 berth tents, and bigger, at v good prices.

I love WildDay.com. Almost as much as MN.

allthegirls · 13/01/2006 13:52

We have the royal andorra 6 and I think it is fantastic. Look at www.wildday.com website. There is loads of room inside and the bedrooms come down really easily so if its really horrible weather you cantake them down and fold them up then there is even more space. We bought ours for £150 so have a look around. i will try and find the place we got ours from if i can remember what its called and see if they have any. Let me know what you think of it and I can give you some more info on it if you are interested in one.

Get an 8 berth and one of these

colorado 8

If you shop around you can get one for about £180....I'm biased as I have one, it is totaly fab, loads of room, loads of doors and a doddle to put up, 30 minutes

Ours is an outwell something or other dome tent. It has 6ft+ head clearance (bought it when 7 months pg and going camping in spain, not wanting to have to bend down ever) but it has 3 poles, one of which is about 5 cm longer than the other two and we can never remember which hole the long one goes into... Car battery went flat once when trying to put it up in the dark.
The Gelert Lokon looks fab but MASSIVE. Like the Outwell Colorado as it's two bedrooms are quite far apart, IYKWIM... Vango looks lovely but too many bedrooms - do you have to have them all up or can you leave one at home if you don't have so many campers? The 8 year old is my stepson and doesn't always come with us.
Roll on summer................................
