People on here have said Sandy Balls is good in the past

Try and track down Surfermum she likes her camping - mind you not sure if she ventures to New Forest or not - bit too close to home for us Pooley's.

Iwent to Sandy balls in Sept after recommendations from mnetters and it was fab. Stayed in a chalet/lodge though so not sure about the camping facilities.

Having just been on the money saving thread however I have to say it wasn't cheap so we did a short break as a treat.

Some info here . I've stayed at Hollands Wood. It was quite a nice site, but I didn't think there were many showers and we ended up on the wrong side of the site, which was next to a busy road and it was surprisingly noisy late at night. The ponies that wandered through the site were lovely though.

I live in Poole and have been to the Mullion Holiday Park in Cornwall which is linked to Sandy Balls. If Sandy Balls is anything like that one it will be great.

hercules · 02/01/2006 22:03

Look on UK camping site for reviews. We chose not to stay at Sandy balls as was a bit commercial for us. Cant remember the name of the forest commission one we stayed at (may have been hollands park) but it was great.

Live near Sandy Balls, so can recommend it. If you own your own tent - then there is a good campsite next to the Red Shoot Inn at Linwood they have toilet, shower facilities and a shop on site. Or try the Forestry Commission they have lots of sites in the New Forest - www.forestholidays.co.uk/caravanandcamping/new-forest.asp (I'm not good at links).

If you need any more help then CAT me I might be able to find you out some more telephone no's etc.

Sorry didn't read the previous post about the Forestry Commission lol!
