Were really limited for space when we camp so ordered one of thses as thought this would be a good space saving solution but just read some really bad reviews on ukcampsite about them - anyone found that they're actually ok for this prpose?

I'm thinking about this option as well. Probably read the same review as you! So hopefully someone will come along and tell us what's what.

I'm even thinking about this: www.iwantoneofthose.com/grilliput-camping-set/index.html?affil=awin&awc=1202_1294258972_610c973cd4016d66f5272ccfd5af1fb9 But I'm sure it will all go wrong...

Yes, used ours nearly every night camping this year as a camp fire. After barbecue, put 'firelog' on top of coals and lovely campfire to sit round without breaking any camping rules. We bought ours for the same reason as you MrsMc i.e lack of space and really wanted a barbecue for camping. Excellent bit of kit. Much Envy from other campers.... Smile

Used it this weekend, worked a treat - perfect bit of kit, cheap and compact and works well!
