I am camping this weekend - what will I need?

Never been before, got the obvious on my list; tent, airbeds, duvets and warm clothes.

Won't need cooking stuff as that is taken care of by someone else.

Is there anything I will definitely need - worried about the cold night ahead of us!

A bucket to pee in in the night in case the loos are a long way off :)

cece · 22/09/2011 22:57

My plan is sleeping mat, airbed, blanket, sleeping bag, blanket with hot water bottles and head to toe layers topped off with fleece and wooly hat Grin

There will be me, DD (who feels the cold) and DS1 (who always feels hot). He thinks he is going to wear his usual pants to bed and that is it. Smile

Loos aren't too far away I have been to the place before but never camped.

But might be a good idea if I don' fancy leaving the tent!

Bucket or tent potty thing for those night time wee wees... You don't want to be scuttling to the loos at 3am in the freezing cold.

JeelyPiece · 22/09/2011 23:00

X-post!

You will not fancy leaving the tent, seriously. We camped last weekend and donated a washing-up bowl to the cause of night time comfort.

I'm going camping with JeelyPiece - washing-up bowl! She does it in style Grin

Oh yes another vote for a bucket here! When we were camping the other weekend I spent ages wondering if I could pee into one of DS's nappies before eventually dragging myself to the loos at 2am!

bohobaby · 23/09/2011 10:09

You need a hotel room, its going to be a cold one this weekend!

Only joking have fun

LidlVoice · 23/09/2011 13:12

the first time I camped it was 6 degrees at night, and we just had airbeds with sleeping bags, wore normal (thick) pyjamas and socks and were absolutely fine. I think you can overdo it Grin

Torches and hot chocolate

Thanks everyone, half way through the packing process and looking forward to it now. I have a huge bag full of fleeces and jumpers! LOL
