I know it's a bit of a joke 'luxury and camping'. Anyone know of anywhere lovely to stay for a unique experience in March anywhere in the world? Was wondering about Canada yurt camping....I want everything done for me - I don't want to have to take sleeping bags and usual camping kit.

Have a shufti at this

Camping in Kenya and Safari

I went here years ago, it honestly is luxury, they even turned down the sheets on the bed and it is silver service all the way.

This was a few years ago now and I'm not sure how 'safe' Kenya now is. Beautiful place tho and beuatiful country with amazingly kind people

I was oging to suggest that "luxury camping" qas an oxymoron but Is ee you realise that

Have a look at the site I posted and tell me it isn't luxury!

The 'tents' are canvas, but have king size beds and beuatiful bathrooms en suite. You get taken to dinner by an armed member of the staff (because of the hippos) and it is a 5 course meal with wine. I drank a G and t on the veranda as a croc climbed to about 3 m from me! Amazing and the most plush place I have ever stayed!

You could argue it isn't real camping i suppose

desperatehousewife · 12/12/2005 18:26

martianbishop - amazing! But not looking for silver service to be honest....for cost reasons and because as you say, you can argue it's not camping!

Yep!

This was in the days before kids. Now we do real camping! With a real tent that we put up ourselves!

Have you thought of people like canvas who have some rather nice caravans...you have to take beding tho, but some of the top of the range ones even have a dishwasher!

I personally wouldn't go anywhere less cold than the tropics in March for camping
