Hi lost... we are back, the site was Nantcol waterfalls in Llanbedr nr Barmouth.
It was fab we really enjoyed it. The family who run the site are sooo nice they make you feel like you have been invited to stay in their home.
Sadly we had to leave a day early due to my ground sheet letting in water after 12 hrs or rain. The field doesn't drain brilliantly due to it being rocky so the groundsheet simply couldn't cope.
There are rope swings and a pool in the river for the kids and a lovely walk up the hill along side the river. The waterfall isn't huge but lovely anyway. From the top of the hill you can see the sea and the Lleyn Peninsular. Beautiful!!
We had campfires and sat out under the billions of stars.
We will be going back next year.
One thing to say is that they recommend that you boil you drinking water due to it being a private supply, I could have done with a warning about this because I would have taken more bottled water just to get us started. It takes ages to cool boiled water!!
Oh and they have planning permission for more showers and washrooms but we never queued to wash up and only for a few minutes for a shower but I would have waited for DD3 anyway because she sometimes struggles by herself.
It is wonderful but don't tell too many people about it
