oooh what fun, heavy rain and gusting up to 45mph in the SW (where we are going) very wet and windy practically everywhere over the weekend.
The upside is that campsites should be a little quieter Grin

We've just got back! Had a beautiful afternoon and evening yesterday, got my BBQ so I'm happy. Lashing rain/winds overnight (still, at least we know the tent's waterproof) and this morning's drizzle soon turned into a steady downpour so we decided to quit while we were ahead!

Good luck all those still out there...

We spent 3 nights in Snowdonia this weekend... it was very wet.

On the first night we had to get up at 3am and take the porch down as the wind was threatening to take it off. On the second night water started to get in through the tent roof. By the third night we had to clear everything out of the living section of the tent as it was a lake. Luckily the bedrooms stayed pretty much dry.

On the plus side the campsite was almost empty so there were no queues for the showers! It is the first time ever that I have got up on the last day at 6am and started packing the car.

Am just about to put a picture on my profile that was taken this weekend so you can see what the weather was like.

Went away to near Worthing for the weekend. Friday night OK, quite windy. Rain in the night. Saturday started OK then really chucked it down and very windy. Were going to explore local area, but it was really too wet and unpleasant. Brightened up in the afternoon so we had a BBQ. Woke up on Sunday to wind, and then the rain started again. We had seen the forecast, but only went as we had planned it for three months, going with three other families. Had a good time, but packed the camper up wet. The awning we were able to put away dry.

Had to help a family on Saturday afternoon as it was just too windy to put up a tent on their own.

we all had to help each other pack up, again as it was so windy.

Went to Ecclesden Farm which is a basic site. OK for the weekend and pretty cheap. Lovely views and very laid back.
