so I am fed up with the rest of MN (this whole mamazon shite really is the ,last straw), so I am assuming that if any of you are trolling you are showing extraordinary persistence by delving into the thrills of iceytec and are worth chatting to.

So anyway, hi, I am SeaShells, I have 2 dc and have been camping and trapsing through the Great Outdoors all my life. I hang out here as my love of camping is more a love of the countryside and life, and you lot have a similar outlook.

Grin you'd be amazed how many don't (uh I just though, yunno, I'd split the pipette between the dog and the cat )

When are you off?

Not waving-mozzies love me too. You can see them u-turn at dh and head straight for me Hmm

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 21:02

That is interesting that you did that (spray on boots and socks) SeaShells, as that's what I want to do on some of the dd's trousers and socks, plus the ikea princess bed net jobby that kept on falling down which I'm going to turn into an anti mossie curtain dd1 doesn't know that yet

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:02

Well I was just wondering whether to start a roaming thread for us all as we go our separate ways over the summer which won't have nearly a thousand posts on it and will be less unwieldy. Is that a good idea? We could use it as a check in point and Losty could dip in and wave the odd wine bottle at us ?

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 21:09

Good thinking ninety-nine.

Can I post on my kindle? I think I can, I might try it before I go.

It would be one liners from me.

In Bavaria eating sausage sat on the tekster. Sandals on. Socks off.

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 21:11

Seashells has just reminded me to de-flea the dog before I go too.

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:11

Ooh ooh I was just thinking the same!

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:14

That was the worst x- post I've ever done. I haven't even got a dog!

I have however, got a kindle ( well it's actually lost in the post at the mo but that's a technicality)

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 19/07/2011 21:19

Lol don't dont deflea your kindle!

A travels bragging thread is a good idea-I can't believe we have nearly reached 1000 posts here. Seems we were in need of a safe haven after all!

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:21

Seashells are you a vet? Gosh I'm impressed ! I'm far more vacuous than that

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:23

"haven" was a clue in the Telegraph crossword on Sat. It's my guilty pleasure Grin

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 19/07/2011 21:29

Not waving-you see, Im woeful at crosswords (though even I could get the last NOTW one, absolutely bloody hilarious)

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:34

Yes it was v funny. I miss that scandal of a Sunday. I used to read NOTW in bed with a coffee and a bacon butty then get up and dressed and read my grown up paper . I'm a bit , well, bereft!

I do watch Panorama and Question Time too though ......

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 21:41

I have never read NOTW, not in or out of bead, nor with a buttie.
Nor have I ever finished the telegraph crossword

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 21:42

Butty singular. Butties plural mr iPad.

scaryt · 19/07/2011 21:43

Seriously did I just go to work for the day or did I accidentally go on holiday for a week?

Very chatty. And now I'm so confused I've no idea what to reply to whom. But it was immensely enjoyable to read. Smile

Am going to have to start reading with paper and pen to hand. My memory is not what it was. Sad really.

Nothing. I have nothing useful to add. Will go back and make notes.

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 19/07/2011 21:47

A ha ha Scaryt! My excuse for nattering is dh works every evening so I'm on the phone or mn :)

Slubber-we have always been Murdoch free household since hillsborough, but we got NOTW last issue for it's historical significance. Daily mail gossip is my sin but im tryi g to give up since these revelations

ChippyMinton · 19/07/2011 21:48

Hello ladies, just popped in to say, yes one can post on ones kindle. Use the mumsnet mobile site. though, and take your reading glasses.

When are you off to forrin parts, Slubber? We leave on Friday and the word is that the Cote d'Azur is hot hot hot. Yay.

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 21:50

Right my lovelies,

I'm going on a non camping holiday on sat for a week. I will continue to drink wine and cheer you all on, but from the luxury of an apartment on the actual beach. With an actual roof.

Assuming that's assesptable (channelling Jo Frost here) shall I start a thread on Fri entitled "Travels With My Tent"?

In return can I reserve the right to post on it even though technically I won't be camping until 11th Aug ?

SeaShellsMyDogSmells · 19/07/2011 21:56

Sounds like a plan...

Slubberdegullion · 19/07/2011 22:03

Chippy Smile hello there. Ok will investigate mobile mumsnet and have a stab with da kindle. Are you driving all that way chez van? Hot hot hot sounds SO good. We are off on aug 7th so a few more weeks to get a flat stomach and tame pubic hair to get organised yet.

notwaving sounds good.

notwavingjustironing · 19/07/2011 22:08

Chippy will you join our roaming thread ?

Slubber is your lovely doggie going with you ?

MisSalLaneous · 19/07/2011 22:11

Great re your good news, notwaving.

Am with Scary - have nothing to add, but reading happily!

scaryt · 19/07/2011 22:15

Must add to the congrats on the good news notwaving.

Very jealous of you lot off to HOT forrin parts.

ChippyMinton · 19/07/2011 22:16

We're hopping over to a Keycamp mobile north of Paris for 3 nights, then a B&B in Macon en-route south. Then a couple of weeks in the van. Parents are already there and have secured a good pitch, whatever that means. Apparently all the folks there are 'brown as berries' so my pasty limbs may need some urgent attention!

Re kindle: If you haven't tried the browser yet: on home page hit 'menu' and scroll down to 'experimental', then 'launch browser'. The mobile URL is m.mumsnet.com/talk

It's easier to read if you change the font size, but unfortunately you have to do this everytime you load a new page. So it's easier to set your options to have a single scrolling page rather than lots of pages, and read down the thread.

ChippyMinton · 19/07/2011 22:18

Notwaving, thank you, i would love to join Smile

I'm planning to set up a free newspaper trial subscription on the kindle whilst away.
