Guaging interest in a MN camp??

Just guaging (that doesnt look as if it's spelt right??) interest really before we think about sorting this out or not.
The tent porn thread threw up the possibility of our opening some of the farm up for a bit of a camp-fest for the August bank holiday Fri-Mon. We are based in the SE, about 8 miles from the coast, about 1 1/2 hours from London. We have a 150 acre mixed farm in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are fields we could use, and there are streams and woods which children could play in (although it is not an 'official' site, so care would need to be taken with usual farm related stuff, high banks, etc)
We could get drinking water to the camping area, although you would need to have water carriers. We would probably have to rely on a chemical toilet unfortunately unless 'our man' can build me a couple more composting ones! We could knock up a few 'communal' open fires as well (we need to put metal underneath to protect the ground) anyone with their own portable fire pit would be more than welcome to use it. We have firewood and locally made charcoal. We can also source Gordon Ramsay's recommended sausages! (the butcher keeps his animals on our farm) and burgers as well as award winning bread. In fact most food could be pre-ordered!
So.... is it a goer or not?

Slubber I have heard rumour of this epic trip. Pray tell....

PredictableDullard · 22/06/2011 21:37

we all know slubber was stolen at birth from a dutch owned german campsite, she is going to germany to try and find some inner peace amongst the canvas and efficiency.

SlubberOnlyInATentCapacity · 23/06/2011 14:51

hahaha

You jest but my maiden name is Germanic in origin.

Yes indeed Peachy, dh has a sabbatical so we are off for 6 weeks to Germany, Switzerland, Austria and wherever else is HOT and not raining all the live long day.

There is also the covert mission of revelaing to dh the delights and superiority of de waard tenten.

That wasnt the kind of hopeful bump you were hoping for, was it!!

I need to work out the prices and see how much to hire a loo for those without kampa khazis! Also need to get the OK from the mother in law, who is in Scotland for a week. If we could sell the 3 of the glamping tents to MNers or those cloth nappy ladies then we could have the run of the farm, which would REALLY annoy the neighbours.
Not forgotten, just spent the day unpicking my FIL's fencing (why make a fence properly when you can bodge it) and pulling up fence posts....

Not to worry, we are pretty broke anyway so are not planning a trip away that weekend unless MN camp cames to pass.

SlubberOnlyInATentCapacity · 25/06/2011 10:14

NettleTea, when you put your Albatross up please could you take lots of pictures and then start a new thread about it. I want to know EVERYTHING, zip quality, inside smell, pitching ease etc etc

Please please please Smile. It is my dream tent.

NettleTea · 25/06/2011 19:04

I will. I got it from a lovely man on Maarktplatz, and couriered it over with a company called The Parcel Network, only cost me £33 inc insurance to collect, so thought that was great. Looking for one of the 6 birth, 2 pole ones for the 'glampsite' now...

DH and I (and 2 dc) maybe interested. Not been on the tent porn site as it's too temptingEnvy
We have a couple of tents but I may be interested in one of your glamping ones if I can stretch to the cost - can you pm me with location and how much?

MrsSnaplegs · 25/06/2011 19:40

Oh and would you allow well behaved dog?

EggyAllenPoe · 25/06/2011 23:44

i would be interested as am 1) in the SE 2) have own tent. we don't have a loo, or even space for it in the car if we got one.
we do have a well-behaved dog also....

MrsDrOwenHunt · 25/06/2011 23:47
