Camping in France or Northern Italy this summer? Help!

Any thoughts/questions we should ask ourselves? We just can't decide!

Where do you really want to go? Have you been to France before? If you haven't, going to Northern Italy is quite a trek. I understand, not having camped there myself, that the pitches in Italy are smaller than those in most of France, apart from in South France. What kind of holiday do you want? Cultural/beach/river? HTH to start you off.

Thanks IloveJudgeJudy, we have been once to the Cote Sauvage in the West of France before. So we haven't seen enough of France yet, but stuck on ideas.
