3rdnparty, any chance you could trick you dh into trying it? I've got special nagging skills so didn't bother with the whole magic trickery business, but dh was very skeptical about bell tents. The fact that I made him drive all the way to Holland probably didn't help either... But, and here's the important bit, one night in it and he has been defending canvas to all and sundry since. He even admitted, nay, offered outright, that I was "right after all".
What about camping in one as a treat / surprise weekend break? - there seem to be more and more places offering those on a prepitched basis. If you're South East, Welsummer is a lovely little site. We've only ever camped there with our own tent, but they have 2 tents that you can hire, and for a decent price. I've just had a quick look - it's £45 for tent plus then normal per person camping fee - not all bad to persuade dh see if you like it. Lovely place, you can have campfire, etc.
Otherwise, if you've got money to waste, you could do a proper glamping one at Jollydays or somewhere similar? Mind you, the glamping would have put dh off, so depends on person really. I'd love it! Then again, for that price you could just buy it and try for yourself, I guess.
