I am going to Decathlon and GoOutdoors for the first time ever today.

This must what it feels like if you are a fashionista and it's your first time to New York.

Two ginormo stores all full of lovely camping kit.

I have quite a long list which includes a wetsuit and the pre-discussed sensible walking sandals. oh and rock pegs, mm and a new paramo coat for dh, wetsuit bootees, adventures in citronella, maybe some more luminous guys, a wind guard thing for the stove...

oh oh and a very thin micro fleece for layering purposes.

I know Fimbo. Fatal error.

I didn't get to go upstairs to look at the tents as 'we have several already'

Slubber I have read many posts from you and assumed, as the camping EXPERT that GoOutdoors and Decathlon would be regukar haunts of yours. Especially as they are very close to each other in Stockport - did you travel far?
You need to go alone next time - DH is like that when I go too. Camperlands isn't far either...

Oh Grammar well thank you for calling me an expert, I'm not really, just gobby with a kit buying addiction.

I have wanted to go to Decathlon for many a moon but have avoided it until now because of
a) the kit buying addiction
b) a pathalogical hatred of driving on the M60
c) We have a really good family run independent camping shop nearby (Casey's near Chester) that I try to support as much as possible.

Sadly, or fortunately, Casey's does not sell wetsuits or the coats that dh said he wanted intil his snonk yesterday, hence the trip to Decathlon and Go Outdoors.

decathlon was wonderful, really it was, so big and full of interesting aisles (such as the horse one...not that I own a horse).

Dh killed my mood. I will have to go back, ALONE.

You could always get yourself a horse?!
