Help - Campsite with tonnes of facilities between Enfield and Leicester

My close friend and I want to camp/caravan with our kids and without our partners. given that I'm the one with 4 kids (one a 18month old and the eldest very aspergic) and I'm taking the caravan and she's only been camping twice in her life (but has two really well behaved and good girls) - doing this without our partners is blooming scarey. With my partner I'm proud to say I've managed muddy fields (lest you think I'm a complete wimp!)) Grin So.... We could really do with a massive all on site site rather like the ones you find in the med. I've found 'Sandy Balls in the New Forest and this would be perfect just would be better closer to Royston. Can you help?

I wonder what joker thought up the name for Sandy Balls then? Grin I'll thank you that I've just lol'd and woken dd up Blush
Right, back to matter in hand (as it were)
I've got three dc and eldest has ASD so have a fair idea what you're likely to be after...I think

don't suppose you're c&cc members or anything

p.s. where actually do you need it to be? Give us a geographical dartboard to aim at - What's your bullseye?

in the meantime look at this

Brilliant name I know - went there as a child and it was good then.

Yes we are, but this evening I really can't get the blasted site working! I know I can phone in the morning, just excited that my poor fried/ sil has actually agreed to this! Since having our rather unexpected 4th most of our friends would pale visibly at my suggestion. We had to go from tent based to Caravan when we realised that physically no body could actually accomodate us any longer! Grin.

Anyway given the age spread - 17 months to 11 years a big site that has pools and kids clubs would be a god send.

Oh that's good!

My dh is based workwise in London, but her partner (my brother in law) is based in Royston I figured that if we did go somewhere they could feasibly commute from they could 'rescue'/provide additional adult supervision if we've bitten off more than we can chew.

wise to keep in sight of the Cavalry Wink
I take mine in the caravan and tent, DH works ridiculous shifts and hates tent camping but we stay in wimping-out-and-going-home distance when I go alone with the dc for precisely the same reasons.

ccc have the new forest sites, have you checked any of those out? I've only seen the ads, they're all a bit far from us so I haven't really gone into researching. The other thing I thought of is googling 'commercial sites xxx[area]' or municipal sites. That's the sort of lingo my Dad talks in but the search engines seem to know what it means!

Will do - thanks so much for your help
