Hello

Looking to go back and meet up with some old friends in Leicestershire) soon (around the Great Glen, M. Harborough, Langtons way) is there any good campsites around there? I'm looking for pretty basic really, ideally allows fires, do not want bar, entertainment any of that! Does anyone know somewhere?

TIA

Oh well thanks for getting back to me.

Are there seriously no campsites in the Leicestershitre area (apart from the dreaded Billing Aquadrome - unless its changed a lot since I was last here!)

Hi I live in Market Harborough so not much experience of camping around here. There is Innala near to Hallaton and Brooke Meadow at Sibbertoft, Overstone Park at Sywell (between Kettering and Nothampton) and there are sites near to Rutland and Oakham. Hope that helps.

If you look at ukcampsite.co.uk then you can search on counties. Here is a link to the results of a quick search I did for you on Leicestershire. I hope it helps.

Will have a good look at those later - thanks.

There's a nice one in Rutland as in the toilets are lovely but it can be a bit noisy and definately no fires.

You might like our favorite near Peterborough if thats not too far. Its actually on the same site as a working/petting farm thing which you are given free access too but is quiet and definately feels like normal camping. We camp in top triangle its lovely campfield were you can pitch in a group round a fire pit, its got the lovely sit out and chat late in the evening atmosphere. Its called sacrewell farm
