Campsite between the Cotswolds, London, Oxford type area

Supposed to be going camping with my Dad and some of his friends Bank Holiday weekend but of course all the good sites are fully booked so I have been given the task of finding a site.

Original plan was the Cotswolds (which is great for us) but Folly Farm and the Cotswold Farm Park sites have been booked for us. Dad's friends are coming from London, my dad is coming from Darlington but he doesn't have young kids so will happily travel further south than we all want to travel north.

Anyone recommend any good, family friendly sites?

sorry cant remember the site but we stopped off near Rutland Water once over the bank holiday weekend and it was great - seems to be a part of the world that is quieter than most. On the A1 too, wich isnt so bad from Darlington

be interested to hear what you find

Thanks, the area looks nice (by the water) but could ideally do with something a bit further south.

We had a great time at this place last year

kids loved toasting marshmellows by the fire and there was a good pub nearby..... lots of lovely walks etc

Ooh, just got back from a holiday in the Cotswolds - loved it - waterpark is great, such pretty villages to visit like Bourton-on-the-water (duck race for kids) and Broadway (great toy shop called Rikki Tikki or something like that!). I can highly recommend where we stayed, it was Hoburne Cotswolds - great indoor and outdoor pool, lake, crazy golf, adventure play area, soft play area, shop, bar and club with decent entertainment (not all hard-sell of photos and sweets like some other holiday parks)

Hope that link worked!

Britchcombe Farm is a lovely place....very basic. We like Greenhill Park, Bletchingdon. Very clean showers & toilets, play area, games barn. It's close to Oxford, not far from A34 & M40. And....the local indian takeaway will deliver to your pitch.

Thanks, we seem to have got lucky with Britchcombe Farm who have penciled us in, most places are full or want 3 nights whereas some of us only want two (I might kill my children longer than that!).

We stayed at Cotswold View campsite - it was really lovely. I would seriously recommend it. www.cotswoldview.co.uk/
