Long Meadow campsite in Brockenhurst - anyone been?

I'm waiting to hear back if I've managed to get a space for the next Bank Hol weekend .

It sounds great from the UK Campsite reviews, I was wondering what MNers thought of it...? :o

Well, we got the last pitch, so now I'm v. excited :o. Have found a bike hire place nearby that delivers them to the campsite, so we'll be introducing DD to a tagalong - can't wait! :o

We popped in to have a look last time we were around there and tbh it just looked like a field. Was a bit disappointed as the reviews are so good. Just around the corner is Balmer Lawn, a lovely spot next to a stream. Great for picnics and paddling on hot days. Would be interested to know how you get on.

Thanks, chica, I do get the impression it's not much more than a field with some loos and showers, but I gather the location is the draw. I spent a long weekend cycling, based in Brockenhurst several years ago and remember how pretty it was, so I'm hoping it's still the same. Ta for the recommendation for Balmer Lawn, if we get good weather that sounds like a definite (that and the open air sea baths in Lymington)! I'll let you know how it went :)
