We're been 'shall we- shan't we' all week, about going away this weekend, due to the weather forecast, in the end it's come to sod it- it'll be fun, even with the thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow. Grin

To be honest I'm not bothered about the weather during the days, it just how cold it will be at night, and that's not going to be too cold.

So we're off tomorrow to a lovely little site about 10 miles away , that we discovered last year. It's lovely, cheap at £10 a night, and our first trip this year.

My parents have just bought a caravan, so it'll be there first trip away in that as well.

moonmother - does my memory serve me right - did we help you to put your new tent up in the garden last year and then the cats pissed sat in it?

If so, glad to see the experience didn't put you off Grin

Slubberdegullion · 28/04/2011 10:44

hotandhappy · 28/04/2011 11:31

notwavingjustironing · 28/04/2011 11:33

no, I've got it into my head that everywhere will be too busy so it put me off a bit. Your festival sounds fun though - am very jealous!!

moonmother · 28/04/2011 11:43

notjust - no I was helping to get it put up too. Can't remember who the poster was now....

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 28/04/2011 11:46

We are going....it's blooming windy down here nowHmm

Have a new tent, not sure how it (or we) will cope with the wind

We have been wavering all morning but have now decided to go for it....We may be back before our planned return on SundayGrin

notwavingjustironing · 28/04/2011 11:55

just checked - it was SuWoo - that was a comedy thread.....

Slubberdegullion · 28/04/2011 12:02

notwaving - first time for us festivalling (even though it's a small one) and for the table with stools (and the sleeping bags, foldy camping pillows, fleece liners, icey-tek, new delta rock pegs and peg puller). All v exciting.

have you got anything planned or booked yet?

notwavingjustironing · 28/04/2011 12:07

Yes have booked to go back for a week in Anglesey with two other mates (females) and their various children and friends.

Am planning another couple of weekends too - caught DH furtively looking at my Camping and Caravanning magazine this week - definately think I might be able to turn him this year which would be lovely, as its fun to go away as a family for a couple of nights.

I made a comment on another thread about the fact that there are so many females who go on their own with their children/friends rather than en famille - it seems to me like it's the women who are the gung ho adventurers - there's no Sky Sports News in a tent though is there?

Ooh new Delta Rock Pegs..... I thought you already had more Deltas than you could shake a hurricane at? Grin

Slubberdegullion · 28/04/2011 12:12

ha - yes. My two are certainly of an age now where I am much more likely to go camping with just the three of us.

New delta rocks are for that hard, hard rain deprived ground in forrin parts that we will be pitching on in the summer. They are very clever and don't actually have a bit that goes into the ground (you hammer your own rock pegs through them and the delta bit it the arm that runs along the top of the ground).

DuplicitousBitch · 28/04/2011 20:03

Grockle · 28/04/2011 21:29

I've got everything piled up in the hall ready to chuck in the car in the morning. was going to leave early and get to site at 11 but decided to wait at home and watch the wedding (seems a bit unfair to not let DS watch it) then head over. Hopefully it won't be packed by 1 and we'll be able to get a good spot.

deste · 04/05/2011 10:21

We went to High Range which is 500 yards from the centre of Aviemore and we had scorching weather. Where did you end up Duplice?
